Change the Treadling

The initial plan for this threading was a combination of the cross motif and pairs of alternating vertical floats. By changing the treadling a different pattern emerged.
There are not many instances where a hitomezashi pattern has a weft float that splits the treadling block of a single vertical float as this one does in the 1, 4 block in the sample on the right. Usually, the figure formed is a ju-stitch or the weft ties down two parallel warp floats.

Likewise, the portion of the draft with alternating pairs of warp floats appears different where the treadling splits the block. What appears as a long float is actually held down by the block-splitting weft.
